Course Description

Prerequisites: Familiarity with Windows based computer operating system & an understanding of AEC Building terminology is an asset.  It is preferred that students have completed the Autodesk Revit Modeling – Essentials course.

Expectations:  Using the functionality of Autodesk Revit features, students learn to utilize the Revit tools specific to a structural design workflow.

  • Using Levels & Grids as datum elements for the model
  • Setting up structural & analytical discipline view properties
  • Working with 3D building model tools like slabs, foundations, columns, trusses, & beams
  • Using system tools to create walls, floors, & roofs

  • Adding structural connections & modifying structural settings
  • Analytical model boundary conditions & load cases
