Course Description

Prerequisites: Familiarity with Windows based computer operating system & an understanding of AEC Building terminology is an asset.  It is preferred that students have completed the Autodesk Revit Modeling – Essentials course.

Expectations: Using the functionality of Autodesk Revit features, students learn to utilize the Revit tools specific to a fire protection design workflow.

  • Using Levels & Grids as datum elements for the model
  • Setting up fire alarm & fire suppression discipline view properties
  • Creating fire suppression pipe systems
  • Working with pipe fittings, accessories, & sprinklers
  • Using the system browser
  • Creating spaces & zones
  • Managing mechanical pipe & electrical settings
  • Working with system analysis tools
  • Adding component features, such as devices & fixtures
