Create a Civil 3D Surface from 2D GIS Contour Data

You have GIS contour data of a site in .SHP file format.  You import the data into your design only to find out it is in 2D.  How do you turn this 2D data into 3D data easily to create a Civil 3D surface

In the linked video, I will use Map 3D tools from within Civil 3d and show you how to import 2D contour data from a shapefile into a drawing, query the data to another drawing to elevate the imported polylines and finally create a Civil 3D surfrace from this data.

Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 - 2018 Geolocation Online Map Hotfix


Microsoft is ending support for version 7 of Bing Maps on June 30th, 2017.

A hotfix is now available that will upgrade your version of Bing Maps to version 8 so that you can continue to use the Geolocation Online Map Data feature. You can download the hotfix from the following link:
