Autodesk has sent out this latest email regarding the ReCap Pro Mobile app that was re-released earlier this month.

One more email about ReCap Pro for mobile. We apologize!

In the first week of March, Autodesk sent emails to Contract Managers informing them that their Industry Collection subscription has expanded to include ReCap Pro for mobile, a service of ReCap Pro. We apologize for any confusion or frustration these emails may have caused you and your team, these messages were not meant to be sent.

The ReCap Pro for mobile app was discontinued by Autodesk as of February 1, 2021. To help customers with the transition, we temporarily reinstated the app so that customers can migrate existing project data off of the ReCap Pro for mobile app on the iPad. The reinstatement process triggered the automated emails you may have received.

What does this mean for me?
Through April 16, 2021, ReCap Pro for mobile will be temporarily available to customers with the mobile app currently installed – the app has been discontinued and is no longer available for new downloads. Customers with the app already installed can open the ReCap Pro for mobile app to retrieve their existing project data.

As of April 17, 2021, ReCap Pro for mobile will be permanently retired.

ReCap Pro subscribers used the ReCap Pro for mobile application for capturing, registering, and analyzing data from the Leica BLK360 laser scanner. We encourage you to continue using the BLK360, but we recommend you use the Leica Cyclone FIELD 360 application as an alternative to ReCap Pro for mobile. To learn more about this alternative to ReCap Pro for mobile app, click here. Please note that the Leica BLK360 + Autodesk ReCap Pro bundle is no longer available.

For more information about Autodesk’s decision to discontinue ReCap Pro for mobile, please read our FAQs.

If you need further support, please contact Autodesk Support. Enterprise customers should reach out to their designated support specialist for further assistance.

So as we can see now, there isn’t going to be a ReCap Pro Mobile app after March 17, but there are many other options as we can see some of them in Autodesk’s email.

Feel free to reach out if you have workflow / hardware / software related questions!
