New Features and Enhancements

  • Users of Drive, Fusion, and BIM Team are now getting onboarded with a more modern look in File Explorer. The new look includes icons representing file status in the File Explorer status column. The new look is being rolled out gradually to users between October 11 through October 27, so not all users will see the icons at once. For more information see the File Icon Statuses help topic.
  • Folders Shared using Autodesk Drive are now visible on the desktop when using Desktop Connector. For more information about Desktop Connector behaviors using the Folder Share feature in Autodesk Drive, see Private Folder Sharing help topic. For more information on how to Share Folders in Autodesk Drive, see Autodesk Drive Private Folder Shares.
  • When using Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D, an XML configuration file can be used to prevent a drawing’s reference template file from being uploaded when saving or dragging and dropping the drawing to Autodesk Docs. Multiple configuration files can be used if needed to support multiple groups or companies. This feature requires version 15.0.0.1540 of Desktop Connector. For more information, see To Prevent Reference Templates from Being Uploaded to Autodesk Docs when Using Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D.

Resolved Issues

  • AutoCAD 2022.1 will no longer create bak, dwl, dwl2 files when the dwg was opened from the workspace. For AutoCAD releases prior to 2022.1, Desktop Connector will add dwl and dwl2 files to the ignore list so they will no longer be uploaded.
  • In Autodesk Drive web, ‘My Data’ cannot be renamed or deleted. To match that behavior, Desktop Connector has removed those commands when right clicking on ‘My Data’.
  • Unnecessary “Checking Latest Version” dialog showing up during AutoCAD dwg compare workflow.
